6 year old Semambo Abel lives in Kikandwa, luwero. In baby class, the young boy has struggled to consistently attend school. He is two years behind his agemates. At six years, he is supposed to be in Primary one not preprimary. However, he is not moved. He is determined to keep his fight going. He consistently shows up at school every term hoping that his parents will pay his school fees so he can be promoted to another class. For the last two years, he has had to repeat baby class due to failure to do end of year exams. His parents failed to pay his school fees. This year, Abel will qualify to do his end of year exams. Purposed Hope Foundation was able to pay his school fees. Abel is an intelligent boy. Even though he is shy and soft spoken, he will be quick to tell you that he wants to be a doctor when you ask.
Purposed Hope has a mission to see children like Abel who come from families hit by abject poverty have an opportunity to grow up like other children and access education as their right. Providing school materials like books, shoes, uniform, school fees, and food will help such children be in position to study and pass exams without any hindrances. For a lasting solution, Purposed Hope Foundation educates parents in abject poverty to earn income generating activities to be able to support and provide for their children. Purposed Hope Foundation also provides capital in form of cash and raw materials to facilitate these poverty-stricken parents so they can start and run small businesses to sustain their lives.
